Awesome dude! Glad to see the coupe getting some loving, looking forward to your progress. If you don't mind me asking, what did happen to the original headers you had? I really liked those on your car, bad@ss

Like titus said- you can use that trans and use a slip-driveshaft.

I have one but it was in the fire- I had this caddy setup for my shoebox with that long style lasalle and you use a fiftys jeep driveshaft- they have the same u-bolt/ bolt on setup as the cadillac. I'll see if I can find it and snap a pic- Its trad- I seen an article in a littlebook and located the driveshaft from Johnny whos the king of willy's jeeps- ;-)

Hey Piero. I sold some of my old caddy stuff on a Cadillac lasalle forum. They have a classified section, and I saw a guy selling some Cadillac ambulance stick shift parts if you still need anything.

Hope it goes well. Let me know when it is back to the house.

    Piero,

My roadster has a '37 Lasalle transmission with the short, Ford closed driveshaft tail section. If you are not going to use an early ford type rearend and Torque Tube, I can't see the advantage. Other than maybe because it is so much shorter. My car has a closed tube and a Columbia, so it all works together great. If you use the Lasalle shifter, it won't need much bending but I do recommend chrome... :D

If you have any questions or need any measurements, don't hesitate to ask.

    Later,
    Kevin

I found many of answer for my 265 in those little books. The rest came from Chris whose like my own large ogre like little book with good taste in parts.

Has this swap started yet or are you tailgating in Austin already?

I'm looking at hotel prices right now. There's a good change I might get back down there this year. Who knows though. Gonna be an interesting 19hr drive with my 20 month old son Memphis along for the ride!!!

I feel like my '35 (the Wizard) is going to be the new live wire in the sense I had it done since October but haven't drove it since I have issues to deal with before I can. Is there a Live Wire curse your cast upon me? I want to make mine explode too.

Thanks Dude... I'm really excited to get that thing in there and blast those 3 gears :D ..
