Customs White wall cleaner

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by itsmee, Mar 4, 2012.

  1. Hi all,
I was looking for something to clean my whitewalls the other day and nothing seemed to be working.
My wife suggested using baby wipes........the same thing you use to wipe a baby's ass.
Short story is that they work...........gotta love the woman who loves a man and his cars :)

Fast Orange hand cleaner works great

  6. Westley's Bleche-Wite Tire Cleaner. Cheap and good. I stopped in an auto parts store and they had a bin marked down to 99 cents a bottle, brought 22 bottles. (lifetime supply). Whats neat, spray it on your blackwalls, let it set for a minute and you would swear chocolate syrup was running out of your tires (embedded dirt). hose that off and then put your tire dressing on. No more brown tires.

You can get a Wesley's refill in the half gallon size CHEAP. Good stuff.

In the old days I'd use Ajax or Comet powder cleaner and a sponge, it worked well.

I'm with Stuart. Back in the 50's and 60's we used either Ajax or Comet with a wet rag then hosed off. For really bad stains SOS pads

  21. I wouldn't know.

I don't use Bleche-Wite on my paint or hands, just my tires.

Westley's works great,BUT it drys the white walls out and they will start to crack ! Diamond back and Coker Reps. say NOT to use bleach white ! I have used Simple Green since 2004 with no problems. If I get a tuff spot or scuff I use alittle dish soap and water with a sheet of 800 grit wet paper to sand it off. Good Luck

I've always used Super Clean. Comes In a purple jug. Real strong, just gotta spray it on wait a min and hose it off, no scrubbing at all. But beware it will dull your wheel finish.

SOS pads...the ones with the soap in them work great. Wet them and the tire first then scrub clean.

Simple green, you can get it at the grocery store.A firm brush ,scrub, rinse off and white she will be.

  28. If I remember correctly (not often) but my 56 Ford Thunderbird owners manual recommend Gojo hand cleaner to "shine" up your tires.

If all else fails with the cleaners. Ur gonna need to take a sander and some 180 grit sandpaper and go over it.
