I just got my hudson running and road worthy. I haven't done any research on coverage yet so I thought I would start here... Can You guys recommend a good company with relatively inexpensive insurance? She's not a daily driver and what are ya'll paying per year on average? Thanks

I'm still learning to navigate the site, and couldn't seem to narrow the search down to just "car insurance".

I've researched it, and as of yet I've not found anybody that will truly insure a classic for daily driver status like they will a newer car. You can get classic car insurance, but if you read the fine print, you basically are not insured if you drive it regularly, only for special events.

I insure mine for liability only, since they consider actual cash value almost nothing on 40+ year old cars.

If you can prove me wrong I'd love to see it.

Also check Condon Skelly Ins. Maple Shade N.J.
I've had all my classics, antiques and hot rods insured with them for 20+ years.

Since any of my cars are daily drivers I have always insured the old cars with the newer cars but I never have more that 3-4 cars.

I use Nocturnal Aviation Insurance Company.

  13. Condon-Skelly. Very good rates, but probably not best suited for daily drivers.

  14. I've had good luck with American Collectors.

I started with Hagerty because they insured it before it was assembled. Nobody else would insure a pile of parts. I stayed with them. I dont know of anyone who will insure a daily driver with stated value insurance.

Grundy now insures daily drivers. So when my insurance company told me they didn't want to insure my old cars I moved all of them to Grundy. It turned out to be cheaper and better coverage.

I have 3 cars insured with Hagerty, no limits on amount of miles I drive or where I can drive it. Other companies that I checked with had cheaper rates, but too many limits on how I can use my car.

  18. I use Am Fam. If I think my car is worth a lot I have them right it into the policy.

Hagerty, I had a misfortune in shop with my 36 and a lift. Hagerty took care of it promptly, professionally. I had it repaired by the best shop I knew of, Hagerty understands the nuances in dealing with a top notch rod. I recommend Hagerty with no reservations.

  24. I just insured my cars with Hagerty. $333/yr for '47 Chevy Fleetline and a '61 F100. I thought that was pretty good.

    My buddy has Grundy also.

3 vehicles = total value 175 grand and his payment is just over 11 hundred a year for all 3.

I am putting my 2 with them within the next month.
