Sounds better than it really is as neither one are worth too much more than scrap price. These have been sitting outside on a farm for over 35 years. One is a 40 Studebaker coupe that someone cut the roof off of and welded the trunk lid closed. Best thing on it is a nice pair of original tail lights! The other is a 1941 Ford 4-door sedan. All there but pretty well shot unless it was covered up or stainless. Car even has a factory radio and clock! Prolly get a front and rear axle and tranny, maybe a wheel or two if I am lucky. Maybe some stainless trim but most is pretty shot. There is also a 1940s AC road grader on the farm that can also be bought cheap...but too big for me to move. That old girl would probably scrap for a bunch!

That Stude looks like it was a fordor, and somebody used the roof as the new rear deck. See the rear window holes they filled on either side of the spare tire stand?

Too bad that the Stude is in such rough shape. Building something like that out out of someone's 'parts" car has always been in the back of my mind.
That 41 should have enough usable pieces to to make it worth hauling home and parting out. Too rusted to build doesn't keep it from being a doner for lot of rigs guys are building.

That's not a '40, taillights are wrong and the gas filler is outside...May I suggest it's a '39...the body styles were similar but trim and other small things were different.

I'm interested in a lot of the stainless on the '41. P.M. sent.

  9. A lot of impossible to find stuff on that Stude; but I agree it looks like a '50s "sports car" conversion.

Can you imagine what that road grader would bring at today's scrap prices ???? Getting it there might be an issue though.

I'd like to think someone would save that grader instead of scrapping it. There is a lot of guys into restoring old equipment like that.

Nice score. If you part those out carefully you can easily make 2-3 times your money back ( inclding your transport costs )

The price is right and it sounds like a very interesting project.

Can't wait to see the after pictures.

    Keep on trucking. Jimbo

The 41's fender stainless is worth the two hundred alone. I sold a set for two hundred three years age.

If anyone could use anything off the '39 Stude, let me know as I am moving that one first and am looking at cutting it in half to unstick it from the ground and then take it directly to the scrap man. Right now the only thing I plan on keeping is the tail lights, the hood chrome, and the banjo steering wheel shell!
