I want to drop the front end a little more - already cut 1 full coil (stock springs) - I heard once that you should not cut too much of the second coil cause a little is alot on the second coil. Should I cut a quarter of a coil or half to start and what will I end up with?
If your really unsure of how much drop you want, I would only do a quarter at a time. When I cut coils for client cars I only do a half a coil at a time.
stop and search here for ways to lower frontend on Shoe Box Fords without it riding like it has no springs by cutting too much.
Boy, Oh Boy ! Doin' backflips to learn 'bout the Aerostar Coils useage. Another note in addition to creeping up on your final ride height: After dropping the car down, roll it back and forth several feet while bouncing the suspension - or better yet drive it around the block, you'll thank me later.
If you havent driven the car yet dont cut any more. The springs will settle some. Give it a week or two of driving and then see if you need to cut 1/4 to a 1/2. If you mess up and cut too much step up to the aerostar coils.
