Grisnant, you would be correct. In 54 only the Roadmaster had 4 portholes, and they did change that in 55.
I know for certain that the Super did use the bigger "caddy" platform as far back as 54 like the Roadmaster did. They were using the Caddy platform for the Super (series 50) and Roadmaster (series 70).
Ironically, a little 'googling' would show this very quickly-just saying...

I finally took the time to reference my 1957 Motor's Manual.

The Roadmaster and Super models were both on the same chassis with 127" wb.

The Special and Century shared the 122" wb.

The "little" Cadillac was the Series 62. It road on a 129" wb chassis.

That suggests to me that the Roadmaster and Super could have shared some body parts with the Series 62 Cadillac. Is that correct?

 

The difference in portholes and such is that the smaller special has only three, and the Century while having four portholes is the smaller body. You asked for pics of cars like yours-with the big body. never mind

Your '56 Super has Roadmaster Fenders on it ! The fenders will interchange !
