Actually most of Tom Daniels' wild designs were made into models by Monogram Model Company. Many years later Monogram and Revell Model Companies became one and reissued many of Tom Daniels designed kits. Having built many of those kits as a teen it's truly amazing what it cost Today to buy and build / paint a model kit.

And for it's the other way, when i got my first car kit (57 Fairlane) in 1988 it was $20, now that same kit is $12-$16 usually when I see it, with inflation that's a good sized drop.

You want to try the hobby here in Oz, I just bought the Revell '48 Ford Custom Coupe. Just the kit was $43.00AU, I wanted the Hudson Hornet Kit but that was $59.00Au.
A single Humbrol tin of paint is $4.00AU, a pack of three styrene tube's to make roll cages from is $6.00AU.
    I also priced a 1/8 Big Deuce, $225.00AU!!
Everything is ridiculously expensive, this is no longer a hobby for kids!

    Doc.

That sucks outright Doc, some places sell kits for those kinds of prices here too, but most are in the $14-35 range, though the last Big Deuce I found was well over $400... always wanted to try that kit.

Glue is $1.50-3, paint is $2.50-4 IIRC, it's been months since I looked at anything.

On the thread topic, here is a photo my buddy snapped of me a week or two ago. (I'm missing a large chunk of my leg in it)

Does that ever rev my engine! :D

    Is it a 409 or a 348?

I got a 348 over the winter to drop in my 59 Suburban limo and some dress-up and go fast couldn't hurt it either!
