I know do a search... I did but could not find a clear answer as there are so many choices. I'm new to whitewalls and need someone to get me pointed in the right direction.

    What I am looking for:
3 or 4 inch white wall.
Under $225 each. The cheaper the better.

Rim size is 15x7 with 255/60/15 tires. They are way to wide! Bought the car with them on there. Would like to be in the 215 range. The car will be a cruiser and will only take a few long trips a year if that even matters. Might put 4000 miles on the car in a year.

If you guys have pictures please post them. Thanks!

The car will be painted about the color of the skirt which is a copper pearl flatz. Will have a all white interior with a flat white top.

check with vendors here as a start - email or call and talk to them first. stock suspension? if not, what? go through pics posted here of '49-'52 Chevys. when you see some that are what you are after send a PM and ask questions. so what is up with the roof? what kind of dashboard?
you need to do some measuring under your car for the distance from the mounting face of drums / discs to the inner lip of fender. the tire and wheel combination that others run may not look the same on your car depending how close what you have is to stock clearances. do a search here on the opinions people have about bias vs radial. find someone in your area that has bias tires and see if you can go for a ride with them to get an idea on how the difference feels on the road. As for the colors you are planning to do your car in, by doing the roof in a white will only bring more attention to how unique it is. possibly go with black or maybe tan.

Ditto ...I'd too really like to see some wheel / tire pics with information about them listed.

Yea I bought it from a guy the cut the damn top of it off and had no clue what to do next. So have been working on it for the last 6 months. It has a sub frame out of who knows what and a different rearend. It has a 350 and 350 turbo trans. They guy I bought it from did not do the work so he does not know what was installed. It has a 60's impala dash. The top I made out of electrical conduit to build the frame then covered it with wire mesh. After that I decided to cover it with fiberglass so it will be solid. Did not want anyone to put their elbow on it and put a dent in it so that is why I added the fiberglass.

There are for sure a few things I would have done different with this top but this was my first project and am still learning everyday on it.

    Radial or bias?

I bought the G78-15 Bias ply 3 inch tires. I was going to go 4 inch but IMO I'm glad I didn't. Just too wide. These were around $120 each.

Corker Firestone bias ply's 15 x 6.70 would look killer on your ride.

I'm running a 15 x 6 wheel but the Firestones will fit anything from 5 to 7' in width. Anywhere from $150.00 to $180.00 each.

White wall size -2.687 to 3.25

    tread width 4.50'

    section width 7.01'

    overall diameter 28.58

The bias plys ride fine. Do a search, you'll find somewhere around 3,487 discussions on it here.

The pie cuts can't be beat for looks. The ones I bought arent pie cut but as I noted, they were less expensive.

670 firestone is the only way to fly

if ya got to have a radial 215 75R 15 or 205 75 R 15 imop the 75 series is the closest you can get to standing tall and narrow look that a firestone has but in a radial

Sweet yea I am an alliance member. Love this site!

Ok from what I found the 670 from coker say they will fit on a 4.50 to 5" rim. Mine is a 7" rim. So it looks like the 670 would not fit.... So these are the only other options I could find on Cokers site.

L78-15 fits 5.50-8" rims. Tire height is 29.30" Is that to tall?
Firestone 890-15 fits 7" rims. Tire height is 31" tall. Too tall?
G78-15 fits 7" rims. Tire height is 27.68" tall.

I love the way the Firestones look. But is 31" to tall? Let me know what you guys think.

Just talked to Coker and they said I would have a hard time fitting a bias ply to a 7" rim so I might start looking for a rim wheel combo so I can go with a 670 firestone.

Seems to me that I'm running basically the same rims as yours. I know I have a set of bias plys 225/75/15 on 7 inch rims in the garage.

Right on their website they list the G78-15 fitting rims 5.5-7.5.

Yea not sure why but the guy I talked to said the bias ply tires are not recommended on 7" wide rims. Wish that was not the case as I really do not want to buy new rims for this piece~

When I looked up the chart I posted I realized that those were the prices after my Alliance discount.

Bah, look at their own charts. I've been satisfied with my tires but my experience with their employee's have been mixed at best.

Sorry man, that top is hideous.

Have you thought about redoing it?

It's ruining what could be a cool car.

I can think of several threads on here about building carson tops that turned out sweet.
