No mention of the accident in any Sacramento news links that I checked. That is usually a good thing for the health and well being of the people involved.

They can't give specific medical info, they can say how many got air lifted or ground transported. If noone got hurt, sadly, the news might not care. If there was no other cars stacked up I tend to agree it could be a single vehicle loud pedal accident.

I just heard that the driver had won an award at the Autorama Cruise-In. The fella I spoke to, told me that he saw the driver walking around near the ambulance. Glad he is o.k.........the only pain is in his wallet.

Yeah, glad to hear he is OK.

But every time there is a Thread on the HAMB about a Hot Rod that was in an accident, you have a number of people exploiting the situation.

By getting on their soapboxes, and preaching to us how we should "Nader-up" our cars.

The man has a fanclub you know...

Go over there if you want to lecture people about seatbelts and rollbars.

If you want to, I can even help you make that first step...

The difference is, that the people that who prefer the have no seatbelts in their Traditional vehicles are talking about their own cars.

The pro seatbelt lobbyists are talking about other peoples cars.

And to try and start that same old discussion every time somebody potentially got hurt in a Hot Rod,
With the same smug " I told you so" attiitude, is a pretty low thing to do, IMO.

That is if they use the people's names but usually when a Hot Rod or Sports car is in an accident and there is a serious injury the press and tv reporters feel that it is sensational enough to warrant a story. That neither felt that it was worth reporting should mean that those involved may not be seriously hurt.

I am glad to hear that the driver is OK, hopefully if there was a passenger that they are Ok as well.

As far as safety goes.. oy. It's a 32 Ford, even with seatbelts it's not going to be a new Volvo (thank god), there's inherent risks to this hobby and I think that we're all well aware of them. The important thing is that nobody got seriously hurt or killed.

  18. Cool on that ! People should focus on people at times like this and not on ideals ..... pathetic.
