OK..here goes: Years ago I saw a pic of a motor (don't remember what it was) that had a supercharger on it. The charger was crank-driven by a pulley on the front-side of the charger, that in turn spun a jackshaft that went to the REAR of the charger and drove the impellers from the rear. The jack shaft was exposed and carried by bearings front and rear...... Anyone have any idea what I'm tryin' to describe here?????? Any info/example pics would be appreciated.... Thanks...and drink 'til she's hot.
Lots of newer Fords have that arrangement as well as the new Edelbrock unit. It is a one piece unit with the intercooler/manifold on the bottom and the jackshaft is carbon fiber. Also has the injector rails. It looks like a really nice intake for around $3K.
Was it in top of the engine? when you say crank pully driven did a belt run from the crank pulley to a top pulley with exposed shaft running backwards into a chamber-pot looking device that sat on top rearward end of the engine? I believe those are early mcullough superchargers and were used on flatties. they popup from time to time and are on the salty side.
