To bad I am going the other direction and going to restore it to original.

Just like my 48 Dodge 4 door.

theres some good money in parts on those old cars,if you find one thats junk.
The professional car forums is the place to sell and find parts.

it's a 62. Found it while driving my route. It was sitting behind a house. I stopped and asked about it and the old woman who had it gave me a price. Said loads of people had tried to buy it before but she just had a good feeling about me. Said she knew it was worth more money. But a good home for it was more important to her. I can't wait to take her for ice cream on a sunday in the ole car when it's done.

cool car-and cool story. reminds me of when i bought my first 54 chevy. it was sitting in front of this woman's house and i had been watching it for a long time-never moved. i finally got up the nerve to walk up to the door and ask about it one afternoon. when i did, she told me "you are literally the 3rd person that has knocked on my door to ask about this car TODAY" (!) i guess it was the first really sunny day of the year now that i think about it.

anyway, i sat there and listened to all her stories about her husband and how it was his baby, etc-i was there for hours. by the time it was time to go, i was thoroughly convinced that the car wasn't going to be for sale, and i thanked her for taking the time to share her stories about the car. just as i was leaving she asked "when do you plan to pick it up" ?

i guess she liked me. we agreed on a price and i picked it up two days later.

Here's my 1926 Studebaker Big Six hearse that I just purchased last weekend. It's about 6 hours away from me so I'm headed to pick it up in another week. We operate a tour business and have been looking for an antique hearse for some time. Our most popular are the ghost tours that we do of local cemeteries and other haunted locales and plan on reviving this old girl as our tour vehicle.

Not sure if you know this but your car is an ambulette. These were dual purpose back in day. They were used for ambulance service by replacing the front seat with a bucket seat and then putting the gurney on the passender side.Funeral homes did ambulance service back in the day. They were used as limos during the regular funeral service.I had a 48 Chrysler that a friend of mine now ownes. He replaced the post and streched it another 4 feet.Reseach ambulette and you will find a lot of info.
