don`t have any photos, but i saw it at grns and was surprised to see how poorly the tops of the doors fit the body!
I took these at GNRS last month. Its a Drake body that Hollywood Hot Rods is building as the Street Rodder tour car.
Damn Hot Rodders, start out with nice new steel and then hack it all out. Looks like the top of doors are pulled out a little.
Yeah I have a Henry built 40 Ford Coupe (in pieces). I just wondered how well the reproduction bodies were looking. Im from the middle coast (KANSAS) so we won't see one in person for awhile. I was really bummed that the Street Rodder tour car was going to be independent up front along with other upgrades. Im not against independent cars I just prefer beam cars.
Check their web site www.bobdrake.com From there you can order their catalog and there is plenty of info there with pix.
No pictures but from what I've seen and what I've heard I'd like to do a complete reproduction '40 coupe (standard). Only deviation would be the all Chevy drivetrain. I've got a new crate ZZ4, a new Doug Nash 5spd or a new 700R4 for a trans and a new set of Halibrands still in the box. It would have to be black w/flames ands nose down ground scraping stance. Frank
Dennis Carpenter had the almost finished body a Louisville. Now that he has taken over the project maybe something will get done!
