Kirk, that's spot on, a hot rod in the truest sense! What make is the intake manifold, is currently being manufactured?

Here are a couple pics of the car the day after paint. It's finally starting to look like something! My cat's on the ladder making sure that everything is done correctly (or she thinks so.......)!

As far as the manifold goes, Offenhauser is making them. I would imagine any Offy dealer could get one but mine came from Hot Heads.

Looks great. What color is it. I want to paint my 35 ford pick-up a maroon color.

That is one healthy cat! This car is awesome. One of my favorite builds on the jamb right now.

  8. On your roof insert did you roll the edges to look like itsits right in the opening. What are you plans for a drip tray if any?

It's shot with single stage Dupont Centari acylic enamal 43473am Roxena red. I added a qt. of flattener in with the gallon of paint for a bit of an old timey lookin paint, it just tatook the glossy edge off is all. There's a bit of dirt and more orange peel for my liking so I'm gonna find out what happens when I buff it in the next couple of days.

The insert is made out of a sheet of 16ga aluminum that is flanged around the edges and held in by studs welded to the underside side of it. Later this spring/summer I'll see how the rain treats me. I know several people who have their hood tops heavily louvered and they never had any rain get in. I know that if I sit still long enough its bound to happen. I also plan on possibly caulking/sealing the insert to body gap so it doesn't act like a funnel. As last resort Plan B would be to take contact cement to the underside of the louvers and apply shower stall rubber liner to it therefore sealing it off completely. I kinda like the holes in the roof as many roadsters use no tops at all and they still drive them around!

Man this car is awsome, the stance is killer. Hows the redram coming along?

  17. Yes this the dilema I face as well as I have a louvered top insert from Walden's to put in I have been thinking about a piece of colored lexan glued into the bottom and drain tubes going down the door posts out the bottom of the car. The thought of rain(as little as we get here) dripping down on me stinks. I will do someting like this I think.
