I designed this dash for my Model A. It has a certain old skool salt flat racer look and a nod to vintage aviation. The masive vintage 1930's speedometer is 6 1/2" in circumference, which is a focal point of the dash. Toggle switch guards, winged SW gauges, gauge bezels, jewel lights, and riveted aluminum trim finish off the dash.

Still not finished, but with Winter here I should make some progress.

This was in my OT 83 Mercury Brougham Marquis station wagon. I hated the intrument panel in it, so I did this. Never again will I attempt this as the guages were a pain to get to work. Apparently, after market gauges do not like modern cars.

  8. What dash do YOU have in your rod/kustom? Didn't see any pictures...

Thanks, "That Guy..." I really liked the `52 Chevy dash because -- once cut down -- the curve closely matched the curve of the `61 Impala wheel I was gonna use. And both wheel and dash lent themselves to two-toning.

This whole thread has been like porn ... I've been thru the whole things a couple of times now. And am having a `41 Pontiac cluster restored for my `28 roadster. Mebbe the best thread ever!!

  23. On a thread this long it's easy to miss reposting some things, but here are a couple dashes I've got in process. The burgundy painted one is in a '36 Ford roadster, the primer one is slated for a '28 Ford roadster. Given how unusual they are I don't think they're duplicating anything.

...Always look great especially in 32's. Where did you pickup the rear view mirror looks a little different? How about a better picture of it???

Obviously not a deuce coupe.. Or a deuce of any kind. Caddy-O on here has an Olds dash in his Chevy truck. I snapped a couple pictures of it last year at the local cruise night.

And this is the '54 Chrysler cluster that will be going in my A. I'll rework another dashboard from a different make to fit the cluster in there and quite a bit more. When I'm at that fork in the road and I get it all mocked up and at least tacked in, I'll update you guys on it.

  28. I am putting a 55 mercury dash in my 51 mercury. As a matter of fact it is in already, but waiting on pics. We were able to keep the radio and the clock intact and reinstalled it in the dash. We are currently making the wrap around for the doors so it makes a good transition and flows with the car. I should have picts of the dash next week, and I will post them.

  29. My '40, the interior will be finished in white rolled and pleated material. Thanks for all the great pics everyone..good thread.
