Depends on the body color IMHO, I've always been partial to semi gloss black wheels, black wall tires and some stock type dog dish caps. My favorites have always been baby moons with the bow tie in the center. The stock 56 caps also look good as is!
I just finished a solid black 56 210. Inline 6 with 2 carter/webers. Steel wheels black wall tars and dog dish caps. NO front bumper that gives it that old H/Gasser look. Good luck JT
This one is my favorite, basically bone stock with a factory two tone and lowered just the right amount. My '56 is the same colors and I'd like mine to look just like this one. I found that pic in this thread, some good suggestions there. http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=562332 If you're real ambitious, check out this build http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350312 That's what I'm planning to do with my '57, I've already done a couple of Mopars the same way. Thought about doing my '56 as well but not sure yet.
Don't listen to any of the two door propaganda douche baggery, build a cool 4dr that looks better than their 2 doors.
mine doesnt have the steelies. just some original caps on mine. lowered a bit, someday lower. love my 4 door Dave
I'm a hypocrite, my tri five is a 2dr but I dig the hell out of the 4dr cars too. Especially 4 door shoeboxes and mercs. MMMMMMM...
Chopperwolf....my 56 is a 210 2 door. 4 doors are becoming more popular and less expensive. I'll try and get some pics out......JT
Gasoline Junkie.. the rear is stock leaf with a 2 inch block. i have a 4 link for the rear to install someday. the front has a 1 inch drop spring and 2 inch drop spindles from CCP. i got the prototype set to test out before they went public with them. stock wheels and caps. sits just about perfect in front but i want to lower the rear some more. have to wait and see how the 4 link sets up. bag it someday possibly. i like the scallops on yours. dave
I dig it. Theres nothing cooler on a 57 than steelies and stock dog dish caps in my opinion. They just look sinister as hell.
