Here is my new 1960 Gasser I just purchased. I haven't decided on what I plan on doing, but I know one thing, Summer will be fun! She is ready for the road.
Falcon Gassers are gay .Only tri-5 chevys can be a gasser ,havent you heard ?Just kidding ,i love it.Is it a 4 spd. or auto ? We should start a Falcon Gasser club...
This Gasser has a 355ci chevrolet motor with double hump heads, 2.02-1.60 valves, ported and polished Comp Cam roller rocker arms, Saturday Night Special Comp Cam, double timing chain, nostalgic Holley 750cfm double pumper carb, 1953 Henry J radiator, Honest Charley Super T10 transmission, IHRA/NHRA certified bell housing.
I agree, but with only a few hundred miles, I can handle that for this summer. I will slam something else next winter
I like it again .Small block Chevys make good temporary engines ,till you can get a decent Ford engine for it.What kind of power plant are you thinking about ?By the way what rearend is in it?
I saw it on ebay. You say "project" in the title- what do you want to change? Gunmetal grey for the axle would probably look good, black for the leaf springs (will paint stay on?), and maybe see what's underneath the paint on the shackles. It looks like the U-bolts and such got painted white, too. I'm not sure it'd look good all painted the same color, but darker would probably look better than the all white. You could take off the front bumper to see how it'd look (it's got a 'slotted' panel behind there), too. Just saying, my 2 cents, no offense, that kind of thing, etc. Thanks, Kurt
Okay, 2 more cents. I do not want to rain on your parade. It looks like whoever 'radiused' the rear wheelwells just cut out the typical rust spot. I'd want to fix it by putting a radiused panel in, or stock patch panels (that could be located different from stock if you want). Thanks, Kurt
I'm confused? I read that you can't choose between a Falcon and a bike and now read that you bought the Falcon? Then go back to the other post and find you haven't bought it?
Well I just found this posting from back in 2008. Been trying to find history on the Falcon I got lastyear. Looks like I own it now. Hope your still around and see this post. I'd like to keep tracking it back. By the way, my neighbor fixed the rear wheel wells, looks better now. Here's the post when I started looking here. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=638658 John
