I worked on my Outlaw by Roth kit today... next week I'll show it.

Anyone know if anyone has made decals for the Grist Bros. Willys gasser? I'd love to build it!

    Great work guys!!

Here's what I've been up to this weekend, also for TRaK 96 hour "resin" build-off.

Here's the resin-stuff involved: chopped 3-w coupe, Modelhaus tires, Ed Fluck (Drag City Casting) wheels, seats & chute.

    And some mock-ups:

Don't think I'll make it in 96 hours but always good to have new build runnin'

Thanks! The wheels are Modelhaus W-170. I was going to use another set with spiders, but I've lost two of them... I think the tyres came from the current issue AMT '60 Ford.

Sorry Rod, I missed your question. Yes, it's a Modelhaus kit. It was $79, but knowing what I know now, I'd have bought the body, glass, bumpers and dash for ~$49 and made the rest.

Beautiful paint! What brand/color is it? I think it would look good on a 1962 Pontiac Catalina custom I am planning to build next.

Tweed, thanks for the tip on that one. They do some magic resins, but like you, I've got to add postage, which ain't cheap.
    Thanks again

These are respectivley my 1st, 2nd and 3rd builds.
The 66 is my 1st ever model car ive built since blowin up military models with my dad at about 6 or 7 years old, then we built a army chopper togheter, but you know how that stuff goes, he basically built it himself while i kept him company, still about 6 or 7 years old. Now im 33 and im truly lovin this!
Both the lowriders still need details like winshiled frame paint, wipers interior etc...and the rivi needs the hood re-done as i wasnt happy w/ the veiling, reson why its not candied over like the rest of the body. The impala needs whitewalls and all the chrome details....its 3 wheeling cause i couldnt lower it as much as i liked to.

Then theres the shoebox. the 3rd one. W/ the first two ive learned some stuff, which im tryin to put to good use on this, im taking a lot more time into the bodywork 4 example, making sure everything is perfect.
I shaved the driprails, absolutley not an easy job, then, since the tail lights werent red plexi but totally plated i decided to shave the windsplits and make my own out of scraps from the other kits.
I also shaved the handles and the barn door hinges, the ford letters on the hood but not the emblem, i decided to keep the stock grille and bumpers and to use a wheel tire combo i isually hate, supremes and wide whites!

I made the tail light lenses w/ that circled piece of plastic. there were 2, one was already done when i took this pic. Then i cut it the right size, THAT WAS SMALL I TELL YA!!! and glued it to the Kaiser guard that was in the kit. The guard was for a custom bumper made of 2 split pieces, but i prefer to use it on top of the stock one.

The black paint is only temporary, so that i can see where the imperfections are and sand'em away.
I would like to chop it, but since i have no idea how it is done it will stay like thism althou not strongly glued togheter so that when i feel confident i can take it apart and cut it up!
I know the pictures are BAD quality, but i hope its clear enuff.

That is Createx Auto Air pearl lime green over black primer with Shop Line automotive clear. I use it for murals, cars, bikes and helmets too.

Wow, this is one of the best builds of this kit I have seen! So much to like about this one. Where did you get the cycle fenders? I have some in another kit, but they look lousy.

I just started this kit as well doing it as an early/mid 60s drag car that could still see some street use. Working on building the Revell parts pack Cadillac 354 engine for it.
