It was 1948, the weather was warm that day, after a frigid night on the lake.
Dozens of cats gathered for a romp in the dirt.
The game was speed man, yea ... speed!
The sound of 8 cylinders popping, the crack of fully opened pipes shook the desert floor.
Oils spat and plumes of burnt fuel filled the air and raised to the heavens as a sweet libation.
All who gathered gave their all to best one another but more importantly, to best themselves.
How many would crack the century mark that day was yet unclear but you can lay bet these gals were pretty certain
that this fly-boy had what it took and you can be just as sure ...
... he did too ...

My first car in high school was an Austin-Healey bug-eye Sprite. I always wanted to put a V-8 in it and loved this Roth shirt design. More than 40 yrs later i finally ended up dropping a V-8 into an Austin-Healey.

 

Basically I'm going to hell, flames seemed appropriate . . .

 

It's the Truck that I hope will be my next tribute project to my Dad. He gave me one when I was 14. Have a lot of great memories made in that truck. I lost him in 2011 to the same damn prostate cancer that they just removed from me..It's going to make a Hell of a Build when I get back on my feet.

 

I'm a Welshman, (Cymro), no brainer.

 

I took inspiration from Ryan and the other board mods with their stylized cartoonish car avatars so i went hunting through the 58 plymouth promo scans i could find and liked this one. It works well and it is the car im working on so yeah. I dig it.

 

I'm the guy standing on the running board of this California Historic Route 66 Association parade entry in 1996. The truck is not mine.

Rollin' home after a trip to an antique airplane fly in at Blakesburg, IA a couple of years ago.

 

Fresh from the bodyshop and I just finished putting the chrome and lights on.

 

Mine is my latest finished project, my Honda CB750 SOHC. I built the whole thing, including the frame, wheel lacing, engine rebuild with some mods, and paint. It's a lot of fun. When I finish my '33 Chevy I'll make that my avatar so it's more HAMB relevant.
