Does anyone know what number i need to get off the vette rear to figure out what it is? I found one number in the casting on the back of the rear by the spring pad. Did not know if this is the right number or not.

At this point im leaning towards a 283 with 2 fours with a four speed or 5 speed behind it. I already have a early 283 and a 2 four intake off of a 56 chevy.

Great find! It looks like an early 70s build start. do you have any background on it?

Yea the car has been local to this area all its life. I was able to get the car from the original family and from what i was told it was started in the late 70's. The car was owned by a family the had deep roots in dirt track racing threw the early fifties till the late 70's. still trying to by the 40 ford race car but having no luck on that so far.
