i'm doing something like that with regulated power supply that i got from Radio Shack

  3. What you need is a regulated 12VDC power supply.

Radio Shack usually stocks the small ones, like 1.5-4.5 amps, but can order you larger ones for running headlights and such.

I use two 150amp power supplies to run my shop stereo and test bench.

With a little planning I can test just about any electric component from any car! :D

  4. You need a simple 120/12v converter .. RS has them. If the lights are 6v then you'll also need a resistor which they can also set you up with. Do some pics when done!

  5. CVD ... you be fast!

  6. Thanks, Sam...

Here is what you are looking for if you don't need the high powered headlights!

I think an H-O train transformer will power small bulbs, no headlights though. (DC output).
