Ok trying to ID this Rear Drum,, 9x2 drum with a 4 1/2 " lug pattern. Tales a tapered shaft that is 3/4" when it comes out. The hub inside is a Kelsey Hayes #33442,, any help would be great. Thinking it might ba an old Mail Jeep or other light duty type 1950's to 60's
Do you know what year this was from? If it was from the era when Jeep was AMC, then it would likely be something that AMC used in a car application. I have a CJ that's AMC but it has a different lenght hub than you have. Mine has an AMC 20, I think it's called. but it don't look like yours. It has the tapered hub and keyway, but hub is different. Sure looks like a 5 1/2 bolt pattern to me. Same as old Ford.
Hollander would be a good place to look. Studebaker also used a 4.5 inch bolt circle. They had keyed axles as well.
ok will check that and try to find a Hollander,,also the small axle shaft,,would that make it a Dana 27 ?
didn't find it in Hollanders (1965 edition), which does list KH hub numbers for several vehicles, and goes back to the 40s on some of them.
I'll have to look again, but it looks different from the 544 drum I need....and those Volvos are pretty far removed from being a brick. edit: yeah, not the 1960s 544. They did use a few different rearends over the years. The 66 I'm working on has threads on the end of the axle that are larger than 3/4", they're about 7/8".
True the 240 is more so the Brick,,lol ,,,the hole diameter is 3/4" ( on front wider in the back of course ) and the nut is a 5/8-18 Use to have alotta 122 parts,,they would be handy about now If I can find a drum that will fit ,,( same specks,,it's ok if it does not look the same )
This brake drum was used on the harley servi-car. starting in 1951 and continued untill sometime in late 1972 or early 1973 when they switched to a 6 bolt that toyota rims fit on. I also would like to know who Harley bought them from, as I need 1 backing plate and 2 more brake drums. I am also in need of the axel shafts.
