    Hello all,

I've been lurking on here for a LONG time.
But now that I've actually gotten a hot rod project (1930 Model A) and on here a LOT more, I figured it was time to join.

I should have done one of these YEARS ago.
Silly simple, incredible easy to modify and build and I'm just having a blast.

Started out with a rolling 1930 frame with title just before Christmas of 2011 and picking up bits and pieces locally have netted me with an excellent start.
'30 Model A frame, '47 front axle, spring behind (Model A) on the '47 split wishbones in the front and Model A spring/'47 split wishbones/'47 Banjo in the back, '30 cowl and doors, '30 radiator surround and '40's Ford steelies.
It's rolling on the '47 axles already.
Sold the '30 parts to local Model A folks.

Anyway, I've been doing air-cooled VW's for many, many years as well as turbo Buick Regals and various Chevrolet's.

Can't wait to get this old rod on the road.

Thanks for all the info I've already put to use!

Sounds like you're off to a good start!

If you haven't found a body for that A yet, I've got the back half of a '30 coupe you might be interested in. If so, shoot me a PM.

    Welcome to the HAMB!

    Hello all!

    Here are some pics!
First is from putting the frame back on "all fours" last Sat., Jan. 21.
Second is of the body parts sitting on it for measurements on Jan. 17.

Body will be channeled 3" at least, by the way.
Plan is for RPU rear quarters and rear panel.

Scored an enclosed '28-29 pickup cab rear section (roof to bottom) this afternoon!
The last piece of my "puzzle".
Less than 4 miles from my house, too!

Needs work but nothing I can't handle.

    Thanks, all.

I'm going to town (time permitting) on this thing.
Don't know what I'd do without the HAMB.

Well, I've been driving it every chance I get since I got it on the road in June.

All I can say is I should have built one of these LONG ago.

It drives fantastic (tracks straight, NO shakes or shimmies) but rides like a log wagon. LOL

The response I've gotten while out and about is priceless. The kids love it, bikers go nuts over it (on the road is always waves and thumbs up).

It's as reliable as my daily driver.

A big thanks to HAMB for the tech and input!
Couldn't have done it without you.

Kind of a big jump from 2/9/12 to 11/10/12 from bare frame and body parts to running rod?

if you have time fill us in on some details of the build, engine, trans, rear end, brakes and chassis build.

It looks great and I'll bet when you get the spring weight adjusted to ride better it will get lots of driving time.

    Probably starting next spring.

I had forgotten that I had this thread on my list to follow and was surprised to see it pop up after so long.

I guess if I wasn't on the Hamb so much and was working more on my projects I would also have one of them on the road.

    Dick :) :) :)
