Why dose some ass have to make that comment about the trim on the Buicks. Merc trim my ass in my opinion a 53 Buick Hardtop is twice as cool as any Merc. Its as bad as the comment about the sterring wheels of our ausie brother cars being on the wrong side. Personaly I like visors on that body style kind of gives it a chopped look.

  3. I'm with Yorgatron.... lose the dice, bolt the visor back on and drive it! That's a very tasty car.

    Love the car!!
I picked up my '53 2 months ago now and started work on it.
I have a visor coming from your side of the pond and some fender skirts, gonna fit bags and I intend to drive the socks off of it!
well done on buying a cracking condition car.

Hey man! What's up? Sorry I havent been in touch. Been working too damn much, thats part of the reason I bought a driver. I just dont have the time needed to get my truck on the road as soon as I want to. Anyway, we'll have to get together soon and thrash on something!

Actually, Merge's car is a two door sedan. It's got the post. Not trying to start anything....I just have to be THAT guy sometimes :D :D... I agree that too many Mercs use that side trim...and I'm building a Merc! It's NOT getting Buick side trim...in fact, it's not getting any side trim at all! The Buick trim always looked right were it was born...on the side of a Buick! And if you'll see my previous post in this thread, you'll come to realize that I've lusted after a certain '52 Buick for quite some time now...

Wow. Thats a nice clean ride. I'd put the visor back on & drive it. Nice color too, I'd be hesitant to 2 tone it but do whatever you like. Good luck with it.

    Nice wheels.

To steal a line from a former student...

"I'd check the "earl", kick the "tars", and drive the wheels off that thang. "

    Congrats...

  19. Just drop it a bit maybe add some different caps, dual glass packs, ect. but over all its a sweet car!

It is, for the most part. But the mammogram did reveal a couple of tiny lumps...

Poor miss Helen Wheels will have to undergo kemo. I'm confident that she'll pull through just fine though.

Put those portholes back thats like neutering a Buick. Two lanes wide with holes on the side.

Yoours actualy still had its trim. I cant argue on that it would fund quite a bit of the build.

Very nice and a super find. Now don't ruin it by taking it all apart. Just freshen up a few things and drive the wheels off it.
