tragic end to a beautiful car... and great driver.

  2. always bums me out. I love that car still however.

  3. Thanks to all HAMB'ers getting the word out - special thanks to vintagehotrods...
...a couple clarifications to postings here:

    1. The first attempt was in FEB '28 and the last in April.

    2. Regarding the comment on the wheel fairings caused Frank to go out of control, an idea even repeated in the movie "Tucker, a Man and His Dream": due to the fact that this car didn't turn like an oval track car, but had a very limited range of movement to the front wheels, I don't know if that is the reason...seeking educated engineering answers on that one - will post the exact degree of turning ability when I'm awake later...

Thanks again, HAMB'ers. All replies welcome and encouraged.

Made a quick sketch of the car today - it's definitely one of the most beautiful LSR cars...

Here are Lockhart's patents for his supercharger intercooler design for the Miller 8's. The pdf file is the entire patent as found.

    It's interesting design...
I'm in the planning stages to build a car that will look very similiar to it.. I'm gathering parts as I type.
