I had a neighbor who lived a block or so away, Tom Bristow. He partnered with Gene Brasil and a 305" Desoto powered junior fueler. Jr. fuel was true purists class; no frills, simple rules and very close racing. To qualify for an 8 car show was acheivement, and to win was something to boast of for years to come. I also liked combo-eliminator; basically a run watcha brung scenario where jr fuel, top gas, AA/FA and A/FD's (injected unlimited cubed cars) ran together.

Hi Rick Neat Junior Fueler photos.

The dragster pictured above is the Cancy - Carpenter Jr. Fueler - not Bob Williams.
Jay Carpenter has requested for me to ask if you have any other pictures of their dragster?
    Please advise Thanks Don

I erred on the spelling. The correct names for the junior fueler were Clancy - Carpenter.

I race with a Jr. Fuel group, I don't want to post up pictures of new cars if they are not allowed on this particular thread. But you can go to www.swjfa.com and read all about us. Thanks.

That looks to be a Jerry Dawson Built car. Same as My dad ran. We must have been at the same tracks together as kids I was 7 in '71

Cool Class, this shot of this rail has the perfect stance, in my opinion. I love the wheels I have never seen ones like that before, they look like something boyd would have produced

Here`s one I worked on back in 1970, pics from Cayuga Ontario. The car was owned by Race Car Automotive, a local distributor who had rights for most speed equipment and sold to other speed shops.

Hey Rick Finch, Do you remember the Jr. Fueler Tadlock & Van? Was a world record holder out of Burbank Ca. sponsored by Glendale Speed Center. One year when I was about 11 they fired it off at midnight for a trophy run down the street on New Years Eve. Cops came and laughed about it and just told the guys to put the thing away, much better times

Why is this class not thriving right now. Nostalgia is very hot, the cost to run a NTF car is crazy. So why has this class died?
