Dad (the sharp-dressed one) and me in front of our Buick in 1953 or so.

The Panel truck in the background was a neighbor's but I think Dad bought it later for his dry cleaning business. His other delivery trucks at various times were a 1938 Dodge humpback panel (ex-ambulance), 1940 Ford sedan delivery and later a Thames (Anglia) panel. (no pics found, yet.)

    My first ride:
A 1953 Pushmaster Deluxe Covertible, with the optional chrome wheels and handlebars!

One like this sold at Barrett-Jackson last year for $38,000.
    Belonged to Marilyn Monroe... :D

This is Dad's pride & joy,.. Dad wasn't much of a car guy, But he was a Test Driver at Ford DPG for a total of 35 years. I beleive this picture was taken early Sept. 1941. Dad left for the Army in 1942. Left the car with my Uncle & Aunt to use,.... who sold it before he got home.

He was proud of the bumper guards, Fog Lights and the checkerboard pattern he painted on the hood louvers,.. and he painted the wheels the same color,.. He said the paint can said "butter cream yellow" The most customizing Dad ever did to a car. :D

How I missed this thread for the last year is beyond me. Most of these have been posted before on other threads, but here goes...

Here's my ol' Man in Hollywood after the war. Funny thing though, in all the years growing up he never was any kind of Hot Rodder.

  21. This is my dad's second car after his maroon '51 fastback chev. The photo is from before I was born. He bought it when he was in highschool. It came with a tuck & roll black & white interior and had been painted 'chinese red', according to my dad. He sold it in '65 to buy a year old 64 Impala 2dr HT. While I don't remember the car, I've always been a fan of '56 Chevs, and bought my own '56 210 HT in 2006.

Not a real good picture, taken right after he got home from WW2 . I believe it's a plymouth. He had a lot of cars when he was here, but this is the one i allways wished i could have. I just vaguely remember riding in it when i was real young. Yep,i look just like him with out the cigarette which helped take him away.

My dad passed away December 6th, so this one hits REAL close to home for me. Here's a few we had playing on a big flat panel during his funeral...

I guess since this picture is as old and OLDER than a few posted.........It qualifies even though it is ME at 16. I guess I also qualify being someone's Dad as well..........

Taken in 1964...my FIRST car - drove it the entire 10th grade at Santa Monica HS, Santa Monica California.
