Tri Bar repros are available. Jaguar restorers..among other Brit cars..use them.

Available on Ebay..or any Jaguar (XK Unlimited is one.) restoration parts retailers.

lucas - the prince of darkness
inventor of the three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off.

Try any classic brit car parts suppliers, as pretty much everything is available.
If you are after the Tri-style headlamps keep an eye out for the 700 series headlamps.
I have recently fitted the tri part to some p700 units i have

Why do the english drink warm beer?

    Because Lucas wires their refrigerators!

also are the tri bars an exact replica?

I always thought that was some cheesy street rodder stuff?

I am so sick of those corny Lucas jokes.
I think you're looking for the bullet types, Flamethrowers, you can't buy them new anywhere now, Moss had them but not anymore.

Here's mine on my English car.

I got 'em from Kopper Kaballero on the HAMB.

Best of luck, they're out there, just keep looking.

got to admit that they are at least a little humorous...

The head lights on your car are exactly what I was talking about!

I can't believe no one is making these?

they are hands down the best looking headlight ever made!

thanks for the pics and info!

Actually Nads, Moss still carries them.. I just bought 4 for my shoebox in July, lenses only..they were $48.50 each...I have the part # written down somewhere, I have to find it...You might not get them without that #...When I called them, they told me they didn't have them anymore until I gave them the part #...

Are the "Driving lamps" or the "Fog Lamps" the type and diameter size you want?

    Back mount: driving 162-760 fog 162-770 $112.95
    Stem mount: driving 162-700 fog 162-800 $83.95

Not sure those Chinese repops are real Flamethrowers... they were 100,000 candlepower.

I have a pair of originals I bought on Fleabay UK a few years ago... I'd sooner have an old Lucas product than any of the new repo stuff... better materials and they actually work much better.

Those Spitfires and Typhoons were Lucas, ya know.
    Tenacity, I suppose.

A set of Flamethrowers got me kicked out of town........... back in the day. Too bright son, your gonna cause an askident. They were mounted on the frame horns of my '55 Chevy while I was rebuilding tbe eyebrows. In those days we drove 'em while we worked on em.

Somebody on the forum was looking for a set of these in 7" and tracked down some of my old posts. I've had a NOS pair of 7" Flamethrowers squirreled away for more than a decade. I dug them out and will most likely be sending them off tomorrow for a new life in a car to be displayed at the GNRS in a couple weeks.

Back when....we used aircraft landing lights. They didn't have the cone like those Lucas lights have, but they were bright as Hell. Most of the time though we had to use those 1/2 shades across the top of the bulb though because they were non directional, which is why we put them on anyway.

Old thread, but here´s a photo of the repro P-700 Tri-bars, haven´t used them but the quality looks really good, not like a cheap-ass china copy.

Do these work with standard American plugs?

  25. Did the same in Australia in the 1970s, I even had one as a reversing light with the toggle switch on the dash.

No. The real ones take an oddball socket. You can buy adapters to put H1 lights into them though. That's what I did on my pal's '59 El Camino.
