Right on I saw that, it's crazy how much these r/c cars are going for now that I have posted this thread, now people can find them more easily. The gold Willys I sold ended up going to Russia.

AFter reading this thread, I bought two NEW 54 Chevys and a NEW Willys from eBay. Have not decided if I will customize them, or not.

That FED is back on eBay with a buy-it-now price. Great work, but little pricey for me.

I agree, you could find a good project car for that price.

One sold today for $238.50 didn't have battery or charger and wasn't sure if it worked.

Here is an update on the Chevy I decided to make the engine sit lower and use the hood. I ended up losing my wire looms and that's what is stoping me from finishing the car. I have a cover that will go around the engine so it will look like it came out of the box with the engine in it.

Ace's Speed Shop: I like the patina on your 54 Chevy. How did you accomplish that look?

Just so everyone know's my real legal name is Ace, just so you dont have to use Ace'sSpeedShop. Everything I use is spray paint besides the Ace's Speed Shop on the gold Willys was hand painted with a brush. I wish I could explain it better but it is kind of complicated, the next time I paint one I will try and post pictures of how I do it. If you look at the pic's on the first page the yellow and orange Willys was the first on I did the the blueish green willys, the red Ford and now the chevy. Each time I tried something different the First one I did I tried sanding it down, which I didnt like and the next one I sat down with a finishing nail and chipped of piece by piece. I liked that one a lot better but it still wasn't right. Finally I got sick of this guy flipping me shit on another site about how they dont look good and all you did was sand it down, this is how patina is suppost to look. So I took the red Ford and out to my garage and started experimenting using zero sandpaper and just over two cars later I have to gold Willys and 54 Chevy.

Once my power kicks back on I will post some pictures of the 36 Ford that I am half way done with. Lost power for three days so I figured I would start on one to pass the time.

I wasn't able to get any before pictures because my camera died before I could get any good shots. It took me 58 pictures to get these three. My camera really sucks. The car look ten times better in person, the color's are different.Over all I think it came out pretty cool

Where in the world did that " 1/4" scale Hilborne scoop come from? I just built a 1/4 scale Willys gasser ( bar stool racer) and need a scoop like that to help cover the steering shaft. I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find one. Any help would be appreciated, thanx, Norm

I have a 54 Chevy and Willys now. Wondering what to do with paint now. I like the patina look on the Chevy. Looking forward to seeing your technique.
