  2. Nick, This is going to be a cool car. I like the braces in the trunk area as well. Very racy looking. Patch panels are looking good. I need to do that next as well. Keep at her!

Worked on fitting the driver's side patch panels yesterday. I borrowed a buddy's shrinker/stretcher to help fit the lower quarter patch panel. VERY handy tool to have around!

A couple photos and heading back out there.... should have them welded in today and I'll move on to the trunk floor.

Thank you, all... I appreciate the kind words!

It won't be painted by the Omaha World of Wheels. When it does get painted, I changed my mind on the color and will be going with Washington Blue (early Ford dark blue color).
Not sure if the car will be there, but I hope to meet you finally!

Good to see you working on the Roadster again. I had to get away from my project for awhile too.

Glad to see it's not a SBC,very nice!!

  19. Hey Nick, it's taken me two cups of coffee and 5 advil to get through all 17 pages of your progress. This build is an inspiration to us all. Your narrative and pictures really help in understanding what you go through building one of these cars.
Keep it up, can't wait to see it done. Like all masterpieces, it takes time.

Thanks, guys! Still a ways to go, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel somehwere :)

Haha.. yeah, lots of cutting, welding, grinding on the subrails!

Kathy, I used one of these abrasive discs:

    LOOKIN’ GOOD.

You are the man. My hat’s off to you.

I hope my TR can meet your Model A roadster some day in the not too far distant future.

I promise to drive it up your way if I ever get the #@!%* thing to run right.

    Keep up the good work.

Thank you, everyone... back at it today, making more progress.

Mike, that's great! Looks like you did a REALLY nice job on his Buick, too!

Charlie, I hope our Roadsters can end up in the same place at some point this year.. would be great to finally meet you!

Chris, I've decided to go with Ford Washington Blue instead... (an early Ford dark blue)

Working on the trunk floor today. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some cheap poster board to use for template material.

I'll use the fitted templates to transfer to 18 gauge sheet metal at a friend's shop, cut the pieces out, come back home to do some bead rolling, then back to his shop to use his brake (sp?) to make the bends.

Another thing I need to do is clean up the hacked old body panels you see in the photos....
