Can Some One Tell Me What This Is?.

Can Any Tell Me What And Where This Piece Goes. It Was In A 49 Chevy Fleetline When I Bought It.

holds the cardboard kick panel, screws to interior cowl pillar from dash down to floor.

 

kinda looks like a sill plate.definatley not a kick panel at 50".if not sill may go at package tray area,in front ,making a rounded edge.good luck

 

too long for a sill plate. too long for the kick panel retainer in the door jamb.

if it does not fit the package tray , then it came from some other car.

 

It looks like an upholstery retainer to me. Kick panel would have been a good guess, but not at 50". See if it is the approximate width of the rear seat. It might be a carpet retainer for the kick up from the floor board to the underside of the back seat. GM's in the 50's often had a piece of carpet covering the 6" or so lip that the back seat sat on.

 

Take it by Kool Rides and ask Lee Chamberlain, he's seen everything.
