G'day from down under

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by zot, Jan 5, 2012.

  1. Built my first bike at age 12. Pump up scooter powered by Victor mower engine. No brakes, chased all over town by the cops. Stared my motor mechanic apprenticeship in 1971. Worked in bike shops as service mechanic, spare parts salesman & motorcycle salesman. Have been into hot roding, drag racing & bikes for my entire life. Have also done a couple of years study in mechanical engineering & have post trade certificate in EFI. Played around with turbo's & superchargers. Not afraid to have ago at repairing anything. Whipper snipers to bulldozers. Did my mechanics apprenticeship with the Post Master General. Ran a bike shop at 19..
At 28 I cut my arm off, it took 6hrs to stitch it back on & 3yrs before i could feel my fingers. thought for a while that i would never ride again. That done went back to my trade & then worked as a spare parts manager at GM dealership & a multi-
franchise motorcycle dealership. Did a stint as a Michelin motorcycle tyre rep. Have had a heavy Combination licence for 40yrs, Driving busses, coaches & paper trucks. Not much i have'nt had a go at. If i can help any one with the expieriance i have aquired than bring it on. Don't know every thing about everything but have trade networks & can usualy get a straight up answer.
    Cheers Zot

Welcome from mid north coast. Bloody good intro mate, I am sure that you will enjoy yourself on here.
Y'know, some blokes when they do an intro on here are even hard pressed to say what part of Aus they live in. Bloody big country we have don't we? Don't know what they are frightened of. Nuff rant.
    Welcome again
    Rod

rob-redm '35 5 window coupe, cool. Had some wild rides in my buddy's '35, Full house solid 300+ duration Boss 302. Commuting to work in this BEAST meant not looking out the windows, cause you knew that everyone was look'n at ya. LOL!
