Wow, nice job. I must say though, that you're a man of few words.

 

Normally I would write more than the few words I´d wrote, but I´m very busy at the moment with all my projects.
So first I posted all the pics I´ve got from the 55 Buick I made in 1 year.

When I´ll post an update I will write a few words more

Great stuff, keep up the good work. Only thing i would change is the Edelbrock aircleaner.

 

cant tell but was there still sand in that engine when you sealed it up... looked like some had gotten in around the valve springs...?

 

Wow, that's a lot of nice progress. Always had a soft spot for '55 Buicks, it's on the list of "someday" cars. You had me hooked...and then you kind of lost me with the air cleaner, too.

@stubbsrodandcustom: There is sand on the valve springs, but I cleaned it. But after I had completed the motor and tested it, I didn´t had compression!

So I bought a overhauled 322cui Nailhead.

 

Here is what I will be working on not so nikce as yours.

 

Some more words about the work I´d done yet:

- overhauled the front suspension (including the steering)
- most of the parts are powder-coated
- the headers are welded cause there were some cracks
- new header bolts (the threads were damaged)
- nailhead got overhauled (new pistons,crankshaft,valves,timing chain and so on)
- did some rust repait on the bottom inside
- rechromed the rearbumper guards, dashboard parts, window garnish
- mounted a new alternator

And at the moment I stripped all the wiring out of the car and make the wiring harness by myself (including a new fuse panel).

I will keep you guys updated...

Finally it´s almoste done.
Have to install new points and a new condenser and take it out for a test ride.

 

Cool old Buick, glad to see another one on the path to being on the road!

 

A 322 in a Special? Sounds like a homebuilt Century to me! Very cool.

Damn it!

The f***ing motor dies after 2-3 minutes at idle speed.

The breaker and condenser is brand new.

I think there are some problems with the e-choke on the edelbrock 1403 carb.

Maybe it´s gonna be damaged due to a defect on the alternator.
The diode on it was damaged. So maybe the electric current killed the e-choke.

Does anybody of you have got some ideas what I can check?

It´s so staggering, because everything is finished and now the motor doesn´t function like it has to do. :-(

 

E-choke problems aside, it looks great. I really dig those hubcaps, what are they from? I think i might crib from what you've done here for my own 56. Especially if the edelbrock winds up working well.

Damn thats a cool car. It was neat to see all the pics in progression all at once, although my computer at home was smoking after loading them all!! Always liked the buicks, a lot more style than others of that era..good luck getting it running right.

 

The motor runs, but now the Dynoflow make some problems.
So disassembling it and we´ll see what´s wrong with it.

So stay tuned for some updates in the near future.

 

well man i like that 55 buick. never was to wild about them but i gotta tell ya that one has changed my mind about them. i now want one!! just like yours..lol youve done that old girl good. hope you get the tranny workin.and yes keep us posted. im hooked now!
