Man, I so want to be a part of this but I am absolutely swamped with work right now. Del- both your ideas kick ass, but I'm favoring the Ardun deuce! Killa! TexasSpeed- love the T man!
How did I miss this??? If I get one done on time, I'm definately in as long as I can figure out how to define the parameters... Larry you are very generous. Del, which of your prints you going to choose should you (very possibly) win??? Maybe I kick that one in for you if you best the rest!!! (Let me think about it...) Thanks Del & Nate, this is long over due... Del, I like the action the '33 is shakin' out but the deuce is very cool!
If we can do 3d sculpture, I'm in. I have had an idea for a while now, and need to make a piece for the Tuck Fire Fund Benefit. I'm thinking scale model style using scrap metal I have around the shop. It's going take take a couple weeks though. I'm no good at sketching an idea though.
How about some pictures for inspiration? While some could surely add some photos, How about these from my archives... Glad to see the challenge has been brought out of hibernation: ...it's been Coupe up for too long ... ... now all the artists can face off ... ... deliver the goods... ... if they feel up to the competition ... ... LET"S ROLL!!!
Ah. It's starting to pick up. I guess I better get back to finishing my T drawing.. How many entires are there so far?
Pre War does that mean that is the cut off year for the coupe or does it mean that it is style of the build?
Here's one just for fun! Sometimes ya just gotta have Tall Stacks! HaHa Lockwood...I think "Pre War" is anything prior to 1942. Correct me if I am wrong.
I love everyone's work and what a great idea. Here's mine. Copic markers on marker paper.....old school baby!!
This could turn into the basis of mine but I have other ideas as well... I'd really like to push the cartoon, stylistically, beyond what I have here: Just sketched it out today and it's based on a photo (which I rarely do) posted on the FAS by bbb.
if I only had a scanner or some other magical way to get my pencil drawings to the internet. Been wanting to get in on this and the Friday Art Show for years!
Imperial, A decent scanner doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. You should look into getting one. I use an Epson Perfection 610. It's a few years old but is holding up. It is the basic 8 1/2 X 12 format so I do have to cut and paste and reformat a little, in Photoshop. Here's a link, they start at about 60 buck but a decent one starts at around 150. http://www.google.com/products?q=Epson+Scanners&hl=en Epsion and Macs work well together but Canons aren't bad either. Both, plus HP or Brother make good ones that will work with Mac or PC well. Lots and lots of options and a place like Best Buy will make it easy to get one, even if a few payments are necessary. C'mon, join the gang!
