I have noticed a few custom prams at car shows at the moment so thought I’d give it a go. Plus it’s my sons second birthday coming up and he is a complete car nut.
I had this old white pedal car body kicking around so decided to put a 1" x 1" chassis under it. I wasn’t to Shure how to go about mounting axels or wheels. But when I came across an old lawn mower at work I had the novel Idea. I used the axels of the mower; cut of the spindle’s and re welded those 180 around for a lower stance. Then using the mechanism for lowering and raising the mower, I adapted it to fit on the pedal car this would give me mechanical air ride lol.
One of my fellow workers is into go carts so he donated some wheels for the rear. I just had to lathe up some adapters for the stub axels. And come up with some cooler looking front wheels.
I have also welded an inch by inch spigot into the back for a removable pusher handle
I then soda blasted the body and gave it to another work mate for a new paint job.

Got the push cart back today, paint come up great. Phantom purple with flames, and painted on tuck and roll interior. Managed to get some trolley wheels for the front just had to paint on the white walls.

Very cool! Love that low-riding mechanic:) Forget about the Pusher handle! This thing needs a steering, so your son can race it! ;)

Wow, that thing rocks! The other kids will envy you son:)

Now i know why you did it without a steering! You want to protect that cool paintjob from dents and scratches;)

  20. Is the lever a park brake or height adjuster, or neither? Very ingenious!

Thanks, The lever is a height adjuster. I pinched the idea from a push along lawn mower.

Nice one, I really want to make a pedal car for my little fella. The mechanical low ride is a awesome touch.
