    Hi Guy's,

I finally collected a 1940 Ford pickup that I first saw 8 months ago. Colleague at work dad had it in storage. It was last on the road 20 years ago. He took it apart to rebuild it and it has sat in a storage unit ever since. Thanks to my buddy Donnie who is a lurker on here, with out his help I would never of been able to move it from the owners storage unit into mine.

It came with 14 tubs of parts with it, two hoods one is a 41, 3 front fenders (2 right and 1 left) 4 rear fenders. Chassis with Mustang II crossmember installed. All new Mustang II front suspension,Ford rebuilt rearend, nos vintage underdash AC unit, pair of running boards, Cougar rear light panel and lights. ( He was going to use this as the roll pan on the rear). He also gave me a Coupe decklid for either a 39 or 40 Ford that he didn't want.

I had a choice of either a 455 Pontiac with trans or a Ford 289 with trans. I chose the 289 as I want it to be just a cruiser and affordable on gas. (Also all of the parts for the 289 were in the tubs.) Wife has given me six months to build it or sell it. (The Lease I have on the storage unit) Guess I better start building it this weekend. I already have 2 other projects in build.:D

Here are a few pictures, it was too hot today to start digging through the tubs.

Started going through the tubs of parts. There is a lot of unknown parts as well, I think I found some old Mustang stuff in one of the tubs. I did find a complete set of Stewart Warner gauges in one tub. I found all of the Mustang II front end parts so will start painting all of that today. Have all new ball joints, rod ends and bushings. There are also some after market parallel rear spring mounts, so I should be able to get the rear end mounted.

Progress so far, had the chassis for little over a week now. I have rebuilt the front suspension completely and I am now in the process of installing the Chassis engineering parallel leaf spring kit. Here is a picture of the chassis painted. I have the new transmission mount and braces installed for the C4.

I'm looking for two rear fenders for a 1940 Ford Pick-Up. Do you have any extra's you like to sell?

The grille you got is an old non-Ford-manufacture replacement grille for a 39 DeLuxe passenger car. It will however, fit the hole so don't worry about it now.
The correct 40-41 Pickup grille is the same as 40 Std Passenger cars with die-cast black-painted side panels and chrome-plated die-cast center section.
There are. or have been, replacements in stamped steel available in the aftermarket for decades, some one piece construction, others a side panel section with a center insert.
Correct reproductions have been available for some years as well.
