Kind of OT - Steering Column

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Texas Highlander Motorsports, Jan 5, 2012.

  1. OK, I'm using an OT steering column on my 47 Dodge truck project. It came out of a 77 Trans Am without column shift. Can anyone tell me what this tab is for and if it is neccessary for proper function?

    Thanks

Its part of the backdrive system (like noted above a trans lock) and needs to be kept/locked in the Park position to be able to lock column and remove key...
