my friend has two small switches that hang from the bottom of the dash.i believe they have lites in them much like a fan switch but on the front of the button is stamped v a c does any one know what this stands for. (they are electric)
Its a signal switch for the "Vagina Action Coalition" flip it on and these chicks come flying in to save the day!!
I hope it was "BEER" and not something else... But like they say different strokes for diferent folks...
Volts Alternating Current. It's a 110 volt machine or equipment switch, not an auto switch per se. Depending on a bunch of factors it may work fine or have a short service life. But I like the other responses better. Tom
I suspect if VAC is on the backside of the switch, thats the rating for Volts AC If VAC is on the front side, it was a switch for a vacuum of some sort. Neither would be car related.
"vac" typically stands for vacuum. Does anything seem to happen when he flips the switches?? Otherwise, he needs to follow the wires and see where they connect.
vac=volicity activated capacitor - Never turn it on if your going more than 88 mph. Best just to leave it off.
My '37 Chevy coupe has two lighted switches on the bottom of the dash. The bulbs are in the knobs of the switches and light when the switch is turned on to show they're activated. One switch is for the heater blower fan and the other is for the defroster. There aren't any markings on the knobs.
If the VAC was anywhere else on the switch but the botton I would say it means Volts Alternating Current. It is used in correlation with other numbers and it has to do with the amp value of the switch at certain VAC. Never the less if it is on the button it probably means something else all together different than what I just said.
it is marked on the knob, they are not in any thing he got them from a swap meet. 302 gmc your statement makes sense did the really make such a thing?
I have the same two switches, I was planning on using the vac one as my line lock light. I thought they were used in mid 60's big ford trucks as a way to know when to shift for low vaccume on the engine ? I did take them out of a early 60's flat nose cab over ford truck, like a fire truck looking thing.
your not looking close enough its actually V A G. if the cars all pissy just lick that button a little bit, and it will stop fucking bitching for a couple days after that.
