I am painting a classy classic car similar to this. I really love the black and burgundy combo, but what is the classiest combo you can think of?

It's better looking than the pink and white chevy pick up next to it.....

  3. Never done it but I have seen some really nice cars in black and silver (or black and "gun metal" gray... a darker gray color).

I've always loved the burgundy/black combo, but I am also a fan of the black/cream, burgundy/cream, or black/hunter green. I can Photoshop the car for you if you have any pics of the actual car. I'd love to see it when you are done- I'm only 15 miles west of you.

Interestingly/sadly, that was a factory color for that year model from GM Canada.

    As for "classy" colors... hmmm...

    Burgundy and tan
    Navy and tan
    Charcoal gray and black

Thanks for the offer skol73. I've also considered pearl white fenders and electric blue body. I think it would get noticed, but not sure if it's classy. Some of those old French cars had some vivid colors.

My '46 Olds will be painted in its OEM colour combination from the data plate. Disregard the photoshopped wheels, FUGLY:eek:

You never really know for sure what color your car will be until you actually walk out of the paint store with the can under your arm.

I spent my entire build assuming my 31 Ford PU would be maroon body with black fenders. When I left the paint store it was black body with tan wheels and interior.

    Yes, it was classy.

  19. Depending on the car I suppose, but I like black and maroon, I like cream and black or tan, and I really like english racing green and black.

Granted a couple of those colors are a little hard for me to see but the combos that I mentioned are plesent to my color challenged eyes.

I like the black and green combo but I'm in love with the colors my gramps painted his 29 model A phaeton.. I think it's one of the factory color combos and I will try to post a pic of it n a sec, but it darker turquoise with kinda flat yellow wheels and pin striping and black fenders. He won best in show in his model A car club down in Port Arthur like 3 or 4 years in a row

always loved that combo. a real warm cream color. also like burnt orange and cream. that cream can be alot lighter than with rootbeer. if you want noticed burnt orange and a real nice silver. both metallic.
