Help me with the pic of Andy Hampton, I don't know were that pic was taken. Let me know Indybigjohn. I think that pic of you and Kenny was in 1971 at Louisville.

Copley, I'm not sure on the Hampton photo. He won more than one ARCA race with that Charger, including on dirt. I can't recall him ever running it at Louisville. The photo with Reiter was definitely at Louisville.

Can't see a number on the Charger in front, but it's probably the ex-Harry Hyde car purchased by Katherine Powell of Louisville and driven by Ken Reiter, among others. It had a few reskinnings, as I recall. The 82 is probably Frank Dewboys. I thought the Ford on the outside was Leonard Blanchard's 95, but you're right, it looks more like Trinkle's 96. I can't recall the 55, but four of those five cars are from the Louisville area.

I love the pictures from Savi Rock. That was an interesring track I was there once when the fog came in off the Sound. The cars would go into turn 1 and you would not see them till they where back on the front strech. I am looking for info and pictures of some of the old grand american series that Harvey ran at West Haven.I am interested in info on Roy Halquist. Iknow he drove The FairField Firestone cars, and I think before the Fords he had a 57 Chevy? I want to build a model of it. Thanks

Could 82 be Danny Dean? I think that pic of Andy is at Nashville. But I don't know who that 55 is. Did you know Katherine Powell or Everett Powell I work with their nephew.

The 82 is Danny Dean in the car I later bought from him. Allstarracing

  19. Meyer Auto Sales is a customer of ours and is still in business in the heart of Monroeville, Indiana. They'd been a Chrysler products dealer since 1915 but sadly lost there franchise a few years ago along with 700+ other Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealers.

I met Roy Hallquist about twenty five years ago. He lived in Trumbull, CT. near a friend and was preparing a dirt track Camaro in his garage for some other guy who drove in NY state (Middletown, I think). I remember Roy driving his Holman & Moody 427 Ford stocker against local United drivers at West Haven several times as well as other NE tracks, often winning or placing in the top two or three. I think I may have a couple photos, and will post if I can find them.

I know I have at least one photo of the red #44. I'll look in my files. It may take a few days.

Harvey had a way of filling the field with some 'questionable' cars when the car count was low, just to make a full field. He always had the fans in mind. He also was known for paying gas money to guys who had bad nights.

Yes, that is the old "Speedway 605" located in what is technically Irwindale, Calif. and directly across the 605 Freeway from the current Toyota Raceway in Irwindale.

Are you Lonnie Pebworth or just someone using his name in your moniker?

Dave Swan - Raced at both Englewood Speedway and Lakeside Speedway in Denver. The photo may have been taken at the short-lived Century-21 speedway east of town.
