Putting sentiment aside, $6K or $6.5K is generous. Take the money and run before the potential buyer starts a poll here on whether he should buy it.

I wouldn't buy a four door Fairlane for $6, but I'd sell one for that! ...all day long!

Don't sell it. Keep it and pray you can get 6500 next year. That's the alternative, isn't it?

Assuming he's serious, you should take his $6000 offer...right now.

    Then buy my Hudson.

Yep, what they said, in a heartbeat. Driver A's can be had for that money these days. In fact, I know of a '28 moredoor for exactly that. Coupes may be a little tuffer nut to crack, but you never know.

Sell it and don't look back. You could tell a little bit more would buy it to see what he offers, but don't scare him off.

Since I put my '32 3W out for sale I have had 7 guys with "I'ma gunna buyit's" disease. Not one has shown up on my property and three live in the same state. One lives less than 11 miles from me and drives by my house twice a day going and coming from work.
Only one guy came to look, so I say take the money and run.

What I tell them all now -
    1. I don't accept deposits unless you clearly understand it non-refundable.
    2. If you can't be a gentleman and keep your word, don't bother me.
    3. It ain't sold until the cash is in my hand and your over the white line.
    4. The only gaurantees in life are death, taxes and me hanging up on you if you ask a question I already answered in my ad.

I might sound mean, but people have driven me to this attitude now.

And..... if the potential buyer is doing his research.... he just might see this discussion and have all your inside information - Google is a wonderful search engine - and HAMB does come up easily in the results......

4 doors are not as in demand, but she's worth $6500 is she's already mechanically sound and would make some teenager's dependable daily driver..

  28. If I broke even on a car I would be happy! Looks like you are going to make money. Unless it is the car that you had your first piece of tail in, sell the more door and don`t look back!!!!

He didn't come back.............or the OP would have posted it by now....thrilled to prove us doubters wrong and with money in his pockets to burn!

I don't take any pleasure in that........it's too bad it didn't work out this time...would have been encouraging for all of us.

You paid too much for it in the beginning and you know you messed up not taking the $6000 or you wouldn't even be asking the question. Pass on the $6000 offer and you'll never get offered that much again. Did the wife slap you side the head yet or not ?
