Actually that was too small but I found a stocker on the 'Net and 'shopped it Gasser style. These cars look good either way as long as you lose that ugly ass front bumper. Hope this helps.

I think I could do that later, I did these with your source images and they look to be close to 2 inch white walls... I can find a narrower one if you like. (the rims are larger then your real set, because I had made this for my own amusement)

That sort-of inspired my more mundane update.

    I like this one, too:
The Giorgio Giugiaro designed, Bertone-built Corvair Monza Testudo (turtle).

  10. The front end of that (kinda) made it onto the Vignale Fiat Samantha.

You're welcome. I'm glad you got rid of that bumper and please start a thread so we can watch your progress. What drivetrain are you planning on using?

    Hey, that's nice!
When I first removed the center aluminum piece, I thought the center line looked a little bland, so I added some detail back. I like the way you resolved it by dropping the hood line down. With the single headlights, it looks wide and sleek.

Anyone wanna do a color change for me, please? First pic is my '33 Plymouth coupe in front of Honest Charley's last summer, second pic is the color I'm contemplating painting it.

can anyone take this and turn it into a 1959 four door El Camino while retaining the '59 rear roof overhang?

This was an interesting exercise. Getting the proportions right was problematic.

I finally took the A-pillar and reversed it which makes for a weird look, but the roof length is about where I like it. I lengthened the front door and shortened the rear. The spear got longer, too. And dropped it two inches closer to the pavement.

Dick Dean did a nice 4-door '59 El Camino and I remember seeing an extra-cab version in Rod & Custom. I'll look for photos after work.

I think I'll give the rear roofline another try later on.

  21. Here´s my go at it - a stock door-and-two-thirds and a re-shuffle of the roof parts gives a pick up profile to the window frames, with (possibly) still enough rear passenger headroom.

    1959 El Camino, take 2:

This time I took the roof from a real '59 El Camino and stretched it.
Much better than my first attempt, I think!

Not the most realistic way to do it, but it was fun to make.

Back again with a request on the wagon.....

Would like to see it in Semi-gloss or Satin finish Baylor Green with the Orange Flake roof. Orange wheels with dog dish center caps and wide whites. Oh and ditch the ski rack!

If anyone wants to throw some astros on there for the heck of it, go for it!
