My father-on-law called me the other day and said that he found my Christmas present in the rafters of his house. He has been living in the house for 30 years and just found this fuel pump.

What year range is this from? It has an AC on the top.

I'm going with 1938(ish), just going from Marine AC pumps I've seen.

The mounting face looks like small block Ford.

  5. Clean the side of the triangle surface with the two mounting holes, it should have a number stamped on it. Post the number it will help to identify it.

4RC, I've seen some marine AC pumps that are headscratchers... some Gray Marine flatty 4 and 6's used AC, and I've seen one on a big Scripps.

That one may or not be marine. I've seen a few glass bowls on pre-war marine powerplants, but not too many as glass filters have been taboo in marine applications for many years. (Bad day if you bust one and fill your bilges with gas :D )

If it's AC it probably has a part number on the casting somewhere, if you find it I may be able to help further.

Tommy, you're right, the mounting boss does look SBF(ish)

It has its fair share of 30 year crud on it. So it looks like I have a goal for tomorrow! I'll see if I can clean it up a but and search for some casting numbers.

  10. Okay! I'll throw out the smart ass answer and get it over with! the fuel pumps name is "Bob".

There is a #1522119 part number stamped into the side of the mounting surface.

That sounds like an o.e.m. number. The AC part number was usually a 3 or 4 digit number in that era.
