I am 11 years old. I collect vintage military items. :D
My dad (In law model A) got me into cars. When I was a toddler, I would sit in the window, and every time I'd see a car go by I'd say "za ca" (the car).
I helped my dad build our model a sedan and our model a truck.
I like to build model kits and stuff out of legos.

Today my dad and I and my Grandpa drove 5 hours each way to pick up my first truck, a 1949 Ford F-1 Truck.

Here we all are, me and my dad and my grandpa's finger:D lol

Welcome to the HAMB, I started going to car shows when I was 10 back in 1961, good to know you like old cars and trucks. Hope you get your '49 finished before you go for your drivers license. Bob

Add a welcome from a geezer. Soak up everything you can from folks who know what they are doing...talking about. Remember that much of what you will learn in school, like math, will serve you ewll when you are fabricating parts and assembling cars.
Keep us updated with your project F-1....words and photos.

  21. Welcome! Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford are both impressed and send friendly horn honks to you and your F-1. I always liked F-1's, especially the '48-'50 version. Good vehicle to learn on. Hope you get to take the road test for your driver's license in your '49 F-1. I was 14 when I got my '38 Ford pickup.

Cool to hear about a young fella into this stuff. And just ignore the inevitable guys that don't take you seriously because "your just a kid". Good luck, and as said before, there's lots to be learned here on the HAMB.

Welcome from Hawaii young fella! Looks like you have a good project there. My Dad started teaching me about cars when I was about your age, back in the '60s. I remember struggling with fractions and decimals in math class at school, but after starting to learn about cars it all made sense. Thanks also to Dad and Granddad for introducing you to our passion.
What do you plan to do to your truck?
