re HAMB member TININDN - Posted on Pontiac forum this evening: "I was just sent terrible news that POCI President Dave Bennett was found outside this morning in the driveway, an apparent fall. He is in ICU with no brain activity. The family will make a decision later this afternoon. There is no other information to pass on. Please keep Dave and his family in your prayers." I am sending this along second hand from performanceyears forum. However, I can tell you first hand that Dave is a wonderful person, and a TRUE champion for our hobby. He has worked tirelessly to preserve an appreciation and knowledge base for the early Pontiac.
Holy shit this is awful news. I am a member of the P.O.C.I. since 1983 and have read his articles in the Smoke Signals mag. This news doesn't sound good however I am pulling for him. Man I hope this has a good outcome. Thinkin' of you Dave!
Well I wish I had more news for you but I just went on my P.O.C.I. website and unfortunately there was nothing about Dave yet. I will keep checking and post any info I find.
I'm sorry to inform that he passed away less than hour ago. Again from py: "JUST IN: Lucas Bennett, Dave's son just emailed to the POCI Board that Dave passed away in his son's (Lucas) arms @ 9 pm est. Rest in Peace, my brother ."
Prayers to the family. Just remember, there is no need for fuel in heaven, it's just open roads and warm weather cruisin !
I am so very sorry to hear this news about Dave . My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife , family and friends . May GOD Bless his wife and family and give them the strength to make it through these tragic times . Retro Jim
