Wow, awesome work, Bill. This axle looks to be a monumentous upgrade over that other one.

Can you build a dropped axle or just straight?

Just straight... I have looked in to it in the past and so far it cost way to much for a small batch of axles

    Thank Bill

Bill makes it look easy. You should see his work in person. Pictures don't do him justice!

Bill looks to be doing some excellent fabrication with axles, and that's coming from someone whos owned most of the axles fabricated in the last ten years by people selling them. I'm going to get one this winter from him.....

Any movement as far as doing dropped units? Still looking for a 2" drop, 48" c/c, in CM with a .180+ wall thickness........

Or anybody have a source? Can't find anyone set up to bend CM in that wall thickness.

Is that red used axle from Speedway? WTF? Mister your axle/fab'n is BUILT to the hilt compared to that rickety junk. Go on and mass produce them!

WELL...I guess he CAN weld a little.:D My welds are smoother once the plastic sets up and I get em' all sanded and primed. Kidding, you must be air craft certified.

Great photo to advertize your axle! I've seen the flaged axle ends Bill makes, great looking welds, he is a nice guy doing great work. Bob [IMG]

The Speedway kit comes as U weld kit, lots of people use them and they are fine if welded properley, that one has been welded very poorly.

I make my axles the same way as Bill.

    Lovely work Bill. proper professional.

    Another axle being tested.
This one is a 2" .250 wall 4130 with a chunk of 1/2 flat stock stuffed down
The center then spot welded down the tube

That's some damn good welding your doing. The welds on the old axle looks like it was hot steel dripped on there.

King pin bosses all flagged and welded into the ends. Next step hone and turn to fit the tube.
