Been looking all over but can not find any pictures past or present, of a 56 buick like mine made into a kustom. Anthony White and i have been looking everywhere but only managed to find one its green with skirts and a visor.looking for a 56 buick 4 port holes with the big roof and door body line ( same as 56 caddy) If anyone knows of one or has pictures of one please post them.

Heres a shot of mine in much need of some cosmetics.

Love those Buicks, the wagon with the lightening bolt down the side is an ex-Omaha ride. Was owned and built for local Tattoo shop owner Smitty, made from a four door and quite a ride. My brother has a 56 Special tu-door post we are going to tear into soon. The cars are really sweet rides, best of luck with your beauty. ~sololobo~

The "big" Buicks share a lot with the Cadillac of year '54-'56 -front windshield glass, top chrome trim, rear chrome trim, rear backlight, side windows, vent window cast pieces, flippers and prolly even wipers and stanchions...I'd bet even the doors are the same...

The "big" body style is the 50 and 70 series, which is Super and Roadmaster, and only the Roadmaster would have 4 port holes. There are a lot more Specials built than Roadmasters, so many of the '56 customs you'll see are based on Specials, which are the "small" body (shared with Oldsmobile instead of Cadillac). I have a '56 Special with hydraulics, built in Chicago in the 70's supposedly, so I'd like to see more pics myself.

Man you guys are great... you can post links and google like no ones business. If only you took time to read the original post... He is looking for the BIG series Buick. Roadmaster and Super.
They have a completely different body than the smaller Special and Century. Only the Special has the 3 port holes as the other three used 4 portholes to denote the larger hp engines.
Up through 55 the specials ran a smaller engine. They ran 264CI in 54 and 55, and before that (in 53) they still had an inline 8 where the larger series ran the 'new' v8 322 engine.
Thanks for trying but lets try to read the original post before showing off your google skills.

    All,

In the door department only '54 Cadillac doors will interchange with '54-'56 Roadmasters and Supers !

    Good Luck,
    Sonny

Super also had 3 port holes per side, only the Roadmaster would have 4 port holes and the bigger "Cadillac sized" body.

Sonny, you are correct...I'd forgotten about the chrome trim "indent" on the '55 and '56 Caddy hardtop doors...would look a little strange on a big Buick, wouldn't it...!!!

The comments about the portholes are wrong. My 56 Super has 4 portholios and has the 322 in it...

both of my 56 Buicks have stock rear ends. I have not measured the width. I bet that information is available online or in an old Motors manual

I know that in '54 ONLY the Roadmasters had 4-portholes. I *thought* that all changed in '55 (maybe '56) and then ONLY the Specials had 3, all others had four regardless of body size.
