Artists of the HAMB unite! It's been too long since our last art challenge and we can't stop on #13 so we're going to do it again!

Friend of the HAMB and world famous artist Del Swanson sent me a message the other day and wanted to know if we could do another challenge. I asked if he had a topic he wanted to try.

Our conversation went a little something like this....

DS: Nate, How about cartoons of pre-war coupes. They would have to be done just for this challenge, no previous art. I'll put up a print to the winner( I know not much, but it's a start).

nate: I like it, how do you define cartoon? That might need to be specific (or maybe not?)

DS: Nate, I think I would define "Cartoon" as having exaggerated proportions, and not a straight portrait of a car. How's that for being clear as mud?!

So there you have it. It's open to interpretation but the topic is a "cartoon of a pre-war coupe"

We are going to do it a little different this time, instead of having a set deadline I'll leave it open until we have 32 entries. It may take a little while but I think it'll work better that way. Del said he'd offer up a prize and I will too. Have fun with it!

Are there any special requirements for the art?

And can you define pre-war coupe? Are we talking pre-war cars in pre-war style or pre-war cars in any style?

    What he said:)

  13. Special requirements, only that it is art created new for this contest, "pre-war coupe" is open to your interpretation. It would take a lot for me to disqualify anyone, but if you're in it to win it remember it will be voted on by members of the HAMB. :D

  17. I Am the most amateur crap drawing artist wannabe.
This is pure crap compared to the real art work that some of you guys can do.
My best drawing is like the sh!tt!es+ stick figure gigger can do.
But It was fun and it gave me something to do.
    It should read:
"I thought you told me to build a hot rod"

I'm not sure which one it'll be, but here are the two I'm deciding on.

  21. Awesome stuff. I wanted to mention one more thing, you can enter as much work as you want. Your name will only be entered once in the poll (so you're not competing with yourself) but feel free to put up a bunch of stuff.

  27. Having recently learned that a friend is having complications after surgery, I'm going to graciously bow out. He is the biggest fan of my drawing abilities and always hinted on drawing his Hot Rod International truck. I'm going to work on that and hopefully lift his spirits.
