Thanks you guys, what i did was made a template out of 1/4 plywood of the tranny before we put the body back on the frame outlining the height and width of the tranny where it would be in relation to the firewall. Used that then to lay it out and cut.Used the stock tranny cross member and made the new mount which is about 1 1/2 inches higher than stock, just fabed a angled bracket the width of the AOD rubber mount and welded to the crossmember.

drjones do you have any pics of the motor mounts or info on what mounts were used. They appear to be different than any other setup Ive seen before.

That chop is PERFECT!!!!! It has a factory feel to it that the regular person might not even notice. Most have a ski slope that just doesn't look right to me. More isn't always better. Nice work. Notes taken and pics saved for the chop of my shoebox.

  8. Jack could tell you all about the mounts. I can take a close up of the mounts the next time I'm over there. I know the part that goes on the frame is a 'Jack fabricated' piece.

might add, only thing we are going to do on the chop, is raise the top of the windshield an inch so that the top of the side glass is even with the top of the windshield to reduce the thickness of the "eyebrow".

The real credit goes to Hub Harness and Chris Carlson of Chaotic Customs of Mulvane Kansas for the terrific metal work, the guys are masters at building kustoms. Will be a fun build...........
