Just curious...

how do you guys feel about VW's?
and what if it was customizedto our standards?

I know it's not American, but I bought one a while back and been tricking it out, tryin to make a custom out of it, one day at a time. It's a 1959 Beetle so year wise it should fit in here...should I post up pics?

 

No vw's on the hamb for the most part. There have been a few exceptions but you outta check with Ryan before you post.

It always amazes me when you get a question like this from somebody with over 500 posts and been here 4 years...

I have an old bug. They are pretty far from badass.

 

Depends on what your definition of badass is.

But there are exceptions.

There were some VW Bug bodied racecars in the period the HAMB concentrates on, and Algon is building a very cool Trad styled Bug.

So those are OK on the HAMB.

For all the rest of them, there are other sites out there they can be posted on.

 

A VW would be a nice change from WIW or can you identify this part or car threads

 

Of all the foreign cars, the VW probably comes closest to one most rodders have respect for. They are model a simple, dependable, and an be customized and fixed up to be pretty cool. Most of us have owned and loved one at some point in our lives.

But there are forums dedicated to them, so better to do your posting there instead of here. JMO.

It amazes me when some don't give anything a chance. They've been around for a while and been involved with as much stuff as the rest of our cars have. Just thought I'd do something different with it than the usual VW enthusiast would.

 

Metalshapes summed it up well. Me personally, I love VW's. Wouldn't mind having some of the ones I used to own back.

 

Like others have said, they can be cool but don't belong here. I had a bus in high school. Froze my ass off in that thing!

 

I rolled one in 1965 ... not that exciting~!

Also- (probably an education issue) but what's up with the rear suspension?

Comment: Probably still not hamb friendly, so expect a flamin' - but personally, I liked the old vw hubcaps over what you've got on there now. Otherwise, I like. Always been a fan of the Beetle.

 

V.W.'s are amazing! One of the coolest production cars ever! In my opinion if the forum allows people to post pictures of gaudy "Fad-T-buckets", then there is certainly room for V.W's.

Its a nice Bug.

But the HAMB really isnt the right place for it.
