This build does my heart good! I was pretty sad when dragsters stopped smokin' the hides for the full quarter. While it is impressive to watch a 300+ mph pass of a modern fuel dragster, it's over so quick you have to say to yourself "wtf just happened"? Answer--someone with cubic money just proved that with enough money anybody can go fast. Your approach is much more my style. It proves that with hard work, mechanical skills and common sense, an ordinary person CAN HAVE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! I just spent about 2 hrs reviewing the entire thread. This is what i hoped the HAMB would be about. I love it. Beers to you!

Yeah, don't forget to remind us to vote. That video is just too cool, I'm with a lot of the others and miss smoking the slicks like that. I'd love to see it in person, maybe Mokan this year.

I thought I saw Kingdon flying the NHRA banner last time I was there... very depressing.

Add Buffalo Valley in middle Tn. and US 43 in Lawerenceburg to your outlaw list.
I always thought Hardinsburg Ky was a NHRA track.
Wasn't English Mtn in Newport an IHRA that went NHRA? I might be incorrect but I thought it was sanctioned anyway. But it's been decades since I went.

I have discovered that anymore nitro is a drawing card openly accepted at places it used to not be allowed, due in part to independent management outside of strict (expensive) sanctioning (liability) guidelines, and doing whatever is necessary to keep stands filled and a track open. Keep in mind we raced before nitrous oxide was used everywhere too.
I suppose things will swing back to what it was like during pre sanctioned times with the demise of strong and active sanctioning bodies of the sport.

Thanks Steve, I'll be in touch!

Yo, no problem, a California Boy wouldn't want to get lost :D back there.

I'll check those out and add them to the list Tom. I've found our insurance don't car what we run, probably do to the fact racers aren't covered, but we aren't ready for Nitro;) @ Eagle Field.
But we do like doing it the old way:D

the prescott arkansas track is my home track.
they are fairly lax on what can run.
there have been a few accidents in the last couple years butthey havent really cracked down yet.
the new season should start in mid feb.
i guess we will see what the new owners attitude will be then.
